Living Room - NYC is thrilled to welcome artist María Paz Contreras Buzeta, our September 2024 Artist in Residence.
María Paz Contreras Buzeta (Paz) was born in Chile in 1981. She studied fine arts at the Art Students League with renowned artists Knox Martin and Kikuo Saito from 2006 to 2012. Paz has since exhibited her work in solo and group shows in New York (Welancora Gallery), China (Today Art Museum in Beijing and Powerlong Art Gallery in Hangzhou), and participated in the prestigious Swatch Art Peace Hotel art residency in Shanghai for six months. Her work is held in several public and private collections worldwide.
Paz has recently been nominated as the Programming Director of Artists Talks on Art (ATOA), the largest worldwide art forum, recognizing her contributions to the art community and her vision for the future of art.
Paz draws inspiration from the timeless wisdom of the Kybalion, seeking to capture the essence of universal truths that transcend borders and cultures. Her work embodies a profound message of unity and harmony, inviting viewers to experience the world in a new light.
Throughout her residency, P A Z will be hosting several free events:

"The Zeta Experience: The End as a Beginning" is a thought-provoking collection of symbols and abstract paintings that distill the essence of Chinese and American numerology and symbology into a new, unified vision. This body of work forges a new language, blending East and West, North and South, to represent a neutral, present energy that connects us all.
Knox Martin Documentary preview: Saturday, Sept. 14th, 5 pm
Needed Zound and the Zeta Tarot Conference, Saturday, Sept. 21, 5 pm
The Last 22 Paintings show. (Now, go Rezet Again), Saturday, Sept. 28, 5 pm
